Tying a string loop
 

Can someone post a link or help me tie a string loop. I tied one a few years ago but can't remember how! Thanks in advance!

A couple of tips not shown on the link: Use a bunch of string wax on the loop cord first. Knots won't tighten up properly without it. After tying the knots, you need to stretch the loop pretty forcefully by opening thehandles of the long nosed pliers with the jaws inserted into the open loop. The loop should be very small at this point in the process - barely large enough to get the plier jaws inserted. You need to leave a tag end about 3/16" sticking out of each knot. This tag should be "picked" with a large needle enough to create moderate fraying - then melted with a small bic lighter to create a solid blob of melted string loop material. Otherwise the loop can eventually pull loose. Some folks actually melt the ends first - once they figure out the exact length of loop cord they need to create the perfect loop length for them. For me, I cut the cord to 5" even.

Invest in a Viper D-loop tool. It wil lsave you a lot of hastle and time.

Youuse it to tighten down the first knot and then use it to tighten the second as well as stretch the string to pretty close to it's final length.
