it depends because I shoot several bows..

For my XFORCE ...455gr FMJs...for my AR VELOCITY...378gr...HOYT ULTRATEC 410gr..HOYT PROTEC...360gr

generally I shoot 520-540gr arrows out of my stickbows.

I was using a 360 gr. arrow at 60 lbs. and was shooting 260 fps. I got some lighter arrows to fool around with that would get my total weight down to 300 gr. and they are smoking at 279 fps. I know I could get them a little faster but I am not worried about that too much. This is plenty fast for me with a 27" draw.

I couldnt decide which to use for deer hunting this year though so yest. I ran the KE numbers. I got 51.87 with the 300 gr. arrows and 54.0 with the 360 gr. arrows. Not much of a difference so I think I am going to hunt with my lighter arrows this year. The speed would help me alot if I had to take a longer shot.

I do think I will go back to the heavier arrows for my next hog hunt though. I would like a little extra OOMPH with those boogers.

I just found out today my arrows exact weight. I had calculated it to be 363 grains and had it weighed and found it to be 370 grains. With my bow maxed out; I am shooting 295 FPS. Also figured my KE to be 71.5.
