blazer clearance

Hey all, I'm shooting a Bowtech Extreme VFT, with Goldtip XT Hunters fletched with Blazers. I'm having some clearance issues with the cables and I was wondering if anyone knew of a cable guard that may pull the cables in a little bit. I believe the cable guard on it is just the one that came with the bow (I bought it used). It's not a real big clearance issue but enough to be of some concern. The bow is still shooting decently considering I just started shooting it again after not having a rest for about six months. I now have a Trophy Taker Proghorn SL, which I tried to turn the arrow slightly and wound up with major clearance issues with the rest. Thanks for any help.

There seems to be a trend here. I have a 06 tribute and an 07 Diamond Black Ice. Both have the same slide, and both have clearence issues w/ blazers. Other fletching as well.
I put a Simms cable slide on the B.I. and it works great. I'm going after one for the Tribute tomorrow as well.

I have a BowTech ExtremeVFT, I shoot gold tip XTs with 2" Blazers. There definitely is a clearance problem with the cables when shooting cock vane up or down. Solution: Shoot cock vane out like we used to do with fingers on the old springy rests. If your rest allows you to rotate the nock so the cock vane is pointing out from the riser at a 90 degree angle you'll be all set.

Oooops, my bad. just re-read your post about the rest... If you don't have any luck with the cable guard change, maybe changing the rest is in order. I'm shooting with a DZ and rotating the nock resolved my issues.

My Diamond Victory had the same problem. I too solved it with a Simms cable slide.

Watch for cam lean if or when you go with a different slide. Some slides pull the cables away more than others which can result in cam lean. I was close to getting clearance problems with my guardian as the slide was wearing really bad. I tried out a few different slides a few days ago until I found one that wouldn't effect the cams and gave me plenty of clearance with blazers. A couple of the slides I tried gave me bad lean. I am new to archery and don't know how to resolve cam lean so I went with a slide that didn't give me any. If you do get cam lean, I think you have to adjust the number of twist in the cables but I am not sure. There are a lot of guys that can help you with that as well on this sight if you end up getting a little lean. I also emailed Bowtech and they are sending me two new slides. They have great service I hear and fixed me up.

I hear the Saunders Hyper Glide slide is really good. I tried it but it gave me bad lean. If I knew enough about tuning to take out the lean, I would have went with the Hyper Glide. I still may go with one after I learn more about cam lean and how to correct it.

I had the same problem with my Ross CR331, turning cock vane out caused contact with my drop away rest, and turned any other way caused cable clearance issues. That bow comes from the factory with the sims slide. I just ended up going with a lower profile vane. I still use blazers on my Cardiac since its my main hunting bow the 31 is for 3-d and back up.

Mine was hitting on my '07 Ally until I realized the cable slide rod was loose. Take the cables out of the slide and check the rod.

I'd stay far away from the Hyper Glide. I was thinking about one until one exploded on a guy standing beside me when he released and cut his nose and scared the $hit out of me. Sounded like a dry fire.

I had some clearance problems on the Guardian and the Blazers and I ended up putting on a Saunders Hyper Glide slide and solved all those issues. Have one on the Commander now too. Really good quality slide.
