Need help setting up Patriot.
I have just bought a used 2002 Patriot. I haven't shot since I was a little kid, and don't know much about arrows. I am from Idaho, and there are regulations on the arrow weight. It must be 400grns. I have about a 27" draw, and will shoot at probably 60lbs. I want to shoot the carbon arrows that I have been hearing so much about. If you could give me some info on this it would be great. (length, tip weight, and type of flechings). Thank you.

RE: Need help setting up Patriot.
Cookie99 there are a few carbons arrows that will work for you,For a 27" draw at 60# there is easton evolution 340,easton a/c kinetic 340 or carbon tech rhinoshaft. All these shafts with a 100 grain point,4" fletching will put you at 400 grains or little over. There is several different options you have. exact arrow length,3"4"5" vanes,100 or 125 grains points. Your best bet see your local archery pro shop and have them weight the arrow for you . <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> patriot shooter

RE: Need help setting up Patriot.
I'd also recommend going to your local archery shop
and get some hands on advice. After, if you'd still like some second opinions, make another post and I'm sure you'll get some responses here:). I've also got a 27" draw. My arrows are cut to 26 1/2" (measured from the bottom on the nock groove to the end of the shaft, not including field tip or BH) and have 4" vanes. I shoot Easton ACC 3-60's with a 100 gr. BH or field tip. The finished weight of my arrows are 392-395 grains. This not a recommendation, but rather some info for you on a setup similar to yours. I almost forgot, I'm shooting a Mathews Q2 set at 66 lbs. with a Trophy Taker arrow rest. Here are a couple links to look at- http://www.eastonarchery.com/ http://goldtip.com/ http://www.bowjackson.com/ Good Luck TB |
