Peep sight recommendations

I am going to go tubeless peep and I want to use a large opening rear peep sight. What make and model would you make a recommendation to use and maybe add your reasons why.Hey thanks.

Do a search. There's recent thread about this topic.

I used a meta peep.

G5's peeps have issues with warping. That's about the only one I would stay away from.

G5's are the only one I WOULD recommend. I use a 1/4" for hunting.

The warping problem only exists if you serve too close to the peep. I've had them on two bows and never had a problem.

If you don't serve close to the peep, you increase your chances for that peep to move vertically over time. A bit risky if you ask me.

Go with the 1/4" Fletcher. Same size as the G5 at half the cost.

Yeah, the blue looks cool and I thought helped with sighting. However,I had a G5 that was not served too tight and it warped. I've talked to G5 personally so I know the issue is real even on peeps not served too tightly. They've supposedly beefed up the latest version. I was sent a replacement and may never put it on since the Fletcher works so well.

I guess it's a known issue, but I haven't had any problem with two of mine yet. Good to know.

If you're familiar with Crackers over on AT, he and I both endorse the Radical line of peeps.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Interesting. An automatic 'edit' of a name that sounds like 'Hacker.';)

Now you've got me going through the alphabet using letters to start Hacker with... :)

I second (or third or fourth or whatever it is by now) Fletcher Tru-Peeps... never given me a bit of problem over the years; simple, inexpensive and bulletproof.

Duh. Just figured it out.

Haven't been on AT in a while, and Mike's name wasn't on my mind... :D

I think it is deleted because it could be considered a racial slur against white people.

I think you're right about the racial slur. Kinda figured that after my second post. Ain't this PC world great?:D

Anyway, Mike and I agree on peep choice.;)

I was actually thinking of moving from the 1/4" Tru-Peep to the G5 Max Hunter or whatever they call it which is 5/16".
I shoot a Spot-Hogg Real Deal with the large pin guard and want the biggest peep I can find that is of the Tru-Peep style.

I heard a couple whispers here and there about them collapsing too? I generally serve above and below and around the middle so I don't want fold the thing over........I imagine the largest diameter would be most prone to warping/ collapsing?

Also has anyone heard any issues with cutting string strands?

RE: Peep sight recommendations

I don't know of anybody that uses the 5/16" but was thinking about it before I bought the 1/4" that ovaled. The smaller diameters have had no ovaling problems that I've heard of.

The good thing is that G5 will replace the peep if it ovals on you. The bad thing is if it does you have to remove the darn thing and serve in another one.

I have not heard strang cutting issues.
