info. on crossbow

I am disabled and am going to crossbow next year. I have found a barnett wildcat 150lb. recurve, is it sufficent to kill deer, how far. I have read that a compound xbow has no advantage over recurve and recurve is cheaper and easier to maintain, is this right. Va. Hunter

What are the pro's and cons of a compound crossbow over a recurve? I know the compounds are faster but I have been seeing a lot of people going from a compund to a recurve style. Instead of the other way around.

Hey Jim, thanks for the advice on crossbow. Tried out a Horton compound , man is it fast, but I like the classic looks and lighter weight of the recurve. How far will the compound do the job with a well placed shot. Va. Hunter

Thanks again Jim, 50 yds. is more to my liking, looks like I need a ten point, rangefinder, and a lot of practice. Martinfaw
