New arrow setup questions
Ok...so I am currantly shooting Easten Epic arrows and they work well, but the vanes are starting to get all rippled and torn. I plan on stripping off the old vanes, putting wraps on the arrows, and adding new vanes. My first question is whether or not this is a good idea, and my second question is how much would this cost if i do it at my local archery shop? Also, i am shooting off the NAP Quicktune 3000 Micro rest. And lastly, it would be appreciated if some of you guys could post some pics of your setups so i could pick out a good color scheme, Im thinking of white raps with 2 white vanes and 1 lime green one. Thanks in advance.

RE: New arrow setup questions
I shoot pink or orange Blazer tiger wraps, and same color Tiger vanes. They colors you want are also very good.
Is it a good idea? Absolutely. How much will it cost? We charge $1/arrow to strip and replace the vanes, and I think $.25/each to wrap. |
RE: New arrow setup questions
good idea for sure...if they are beat up/ripped/torn etc...
wrapping is all upto you...some guys like it..some dont. all they are is for looks basically...can help you find them too possibly.. my shop i think charges 75 cents a piece to strip and replace with blazer vanes...pretty sure thats what it was..or maybe it was 25cents a vane/75cents an arrow..i cant remember...putting on the wrap will cost more..plus they run about a buck a piece...soooo your looking at 2-3$ an arrow ballpark.... colors....thats upto you too. i shot 2 yellow and 1 white and now i shoot 2 green and 1 white. pick your favorite colors and have at it....or colors that stand out to you...or camo colors or whatever you like...thats a personal thing...id never tell someone what color fletchings to shoot:D ive seen all 3 the same color, all 3 different colors, 2 the same and 1 different...all look goo...to the guy that shoots them. tons of really good lookin wraps out there now too...personallize your arrows....thats the fun of it... |
RE: New arrow setup questions
Wraps allow you to just tear off the wrap and not mess with the glue when you decide to refletch. Onetringer makes great wraps for less that $8.00 a dozen.
You can also use the wraps if you need to increase the spine of an arrow if the spine is a little weak. |
RE: New arrow setup questions
Buy a jig and do it yourself. It's not that hard. Here is my first attempt. You can get your wraps from onestringer in the classified forum. He has hundreds to choose from. His links might not be working, just pm him and he can get it to you.
