How to design an Extreme FOC hunting arrow

RE: How to design an Extreme FOC hunting arrow
Matt, what arrow are you putting that bad-boy on, aluminum or carbon?
Ok........so it turns out it's not going to be 700grs. My 7595 Traditionals were bareshafting much to stiff no matter how many pounds of tip weight I added plus they started diving, so I tried my5575 Traditionals with 145gr heads and 20gr extra insert weight......with nock adapters and a Bohning nock they bareshaft tune perfectly. 513grs with 5" feathers.
So I'll change out the 145gr head and the extra 20 grs........throw on the 220gr Muzzy and add another 50grs to the tail to maintain spine and I should end up with roughly 615grs finished arrow weight. I haven't figured FOC but I'm guessing around 15%?
It'll either be the 220gr muzzys or 160gr Simmons Landsharks with additional weight in the insert to bring the front weight back up.
I think approx 615grs out of a62# @ 30.5"Black Widow SA V is gonna leave a serious mark.

Since all the arrow gurus are on this thread I've got a question. When measuring for FOC do you measure to the front edge of arrow or to the tip of the field point/broadhead? I've always measured to thelatter. Just wondering if I'm doing it right.

Sure will.
Bob, I'm curious about the tapered shafts. When you get them built, I'd appreaciate if you made a post on what the FOC turns out to be.
