best peep serving?

What is a good material for serving the peep? I've decided to start putting a peep on the right way and would like to know what to use.

I use the samefastfliteserving material I use for center servings. I guess most of us do the same.

Arthur,

Thank you for the info. Is there any particular size?

No, any size will work for serving in a peep. Just use the same size that you use to re-serve the string to make your nocks fitright.

Roger on that. I read some people saying they only use a certain type. I figured any normal serving will work. Thank you and have fun shooting.

www.specialtyarch.com has an excellent peep tying video - best i've seen or used. you don't have to effect the gaps around the peep - you actually connect the peep to the string. it really works.

i use end serving for tying in peeps, bcy 3d to be exact - its .017 in thickness and is lighter than center serving. you have to know that arthurp could use iron fencing to tie in his peep and w/ his draw length he'd still be shooting faster than most of us.

gibblet,

Thanks for the info. I ordered the Bohning String Serving kit last night. I gfigured i need the other stuff too if i'm going ot do things right. The kit has #62 poly grip. I may order the .17 if I'm not wild about the stuff that comes with it.From looking at my numbers the extra weight won't affect my arrow very much either.

John:

When you stop by the store remind me to show you a 'hunting' peep serving that is very easy to tie and holds the peep in place much better without damaging the string.

It's one of the many things that will be covered in my seminar.;)

This is the same stuff I prefer to use, I got a good length of it a while ago from Gibblet with one of his strings and love the stuff, it also ties the best nock points as well and doesn't have any stretch. This stuff gets my vote on the best stuff.
