Dumb Question...
I'm new to bowhunting, and have noticed that many of the higher-endhunting arrows have smaller vanes than the "standard" ones. What is the advantage of this?
|
RE: Dumb Question...
It's not specific to higher end arrows, but.....GENERALLY speaking, target arrows are higher end, and target shooters use smaller vanes to keep the weight down. And since they aren't guiding a broadhead, it doesn't matter much.
Blazers are the rage now, with target and hunters alike, and with good reason. They work VERY well. |
RE: Dumb Question...
First off, asking this question automatically makes it not a dumb question.
mobowhuntr basically sums it up very well. Personally I shoot 4" feathers for everything. The arrows I hunt with are the same arrows I target shoot with. |
RE: Dumb Question...
Target arrows will usually have small vanes becase of3 reasons.Less drag downrange, lighter weight = better f.o.c. and they are affected by crosswind less.

RE: Dumb Question...
Well less air drag, weight, etc. makes sense.
Thanks! |
RE: Dumb Question...
The Blazers work great with fixed blade broadheads. And are pretty much a must if you use a WB.
