SqueezeKing Bow Press

,, for my Guardian. Need to clean up and paint and then dip the 'fingers" that pivot in a protective coating like maybe truck bedliner material.:D

Hah, that's awesome. How did I know something like this was coming.........lol.

WWAG, why don't you find a way to make a shoot through binary that is slaved with no cable guard.

Good idea!!:D Here's one of the press folded up vertically. Thinking about welding a hinge to the bottom shown here so I could fold it up and against the wall to make room on my work bench when I don't need the press.

I've just got it drilled for the correct length for the Guardian now but will be making more holes for the Commander and Constitution among others..

Just pull the pin and select another hole for a longer or shorter bow. The number 40 chain stored in the tube arms.

Very nice work again, Russ.:D

Russ, have you tried this stuff? It might work very well for the fingers. I use it on all kinds of things, from my treestand strap hooks to my arrow rest prongs. It is pretty durable and easily repaired if ever needed.

WWIG,

That is a really cool design, especially the fold up feature.

However, instead of all the steel framing, I wonder if a way could be figured out to mount the fingers on a pipe clamp? I think that they have enough travel to accomplish the pressing, but a lot cheaper.

I'd bet you probably could modify a pipe clamp to work as a press. It doesn't take much force to press these bows at the limb tips at all!

I don't want to hijack WWAG's thread, so I'll start a new one.

Nice Press my friend...

Plastidip works very well if you use more than one coat. I've put 4 coats of it on some ratchet strap hooks and the stuff is still there.

There is a ratchet mechanism under the handle and in the upper body of the sprocket tube. Ratchet up, back it down by de-ratcheting. It only takes one or two clicks. I'll see if I can make up a short video sometime soon.

Have you thought of industrial type felt with adhesive back? You can get it in different thicknesses and widths. I have used it on a few machines to keep parts from getting scratched. If it sounds like something you might be interested in PM me and next week when I go to work I’ll look it up for you.[/b]

I dipped the pivoting tabs and the handle that I slimmed down with red Plasti Dip today after I sand blasted and painted the press white. She's gonna' look cool when it's back together. The Plasti Dip I think will work pretty well and the edges of the tabs are coated too to protect the bow when my clumsy hands are guiding the bow in and out of the press:(

You can hold the bow in place while evening up the tabs with the limb tips just by pushing down on the chain. Once the limbs are where you want them, hold pressure on the chain and start ratcheting the handle.

I made the "anchor sprocket" out of 1/4 inch flat stock. It takes all the load instead of relying on the master link.

Tabs are adjustable on the back side from 1 1/2 inches outside to outside to 2 1/2 inches.

The tubing measures 3 inches by 1 1/2 inches and is 14 guage steel.
