Replacing a single feather on a bitz...
 

Alright, I might be an idiot (I know that) but is there an easy way to replace a single fletch on an arrow with the bitz? I can't ever seem to get it to line up properly after I've twisted my nock, ruin a fletch and then try to replace it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I dont know how the blitz works but if it works like my jo jan, can you just turn the nock reciever a little bit and eyeball it til the feather is in the middle of the other two?

If you can set the jig up so that you don't have to turn your nocks after they're fletched, that's the best. That way, they will always line up. If you can't set itup that way, well......You gotta eyeball it. The only other option is to peel all 3 off and start over.

The bitz isn't adjustable that way. Here's what I do, it's a pain but it works.

Attach the clamp to a "good" vane. Take the nock off your arrow and place it in the bitz. Gently work the clamp into place until thenock starts to seat into the arrow. I urge gently so you don't rip off the "good" vane.

Once the arrow starts to seat, remove the clamp, and go ahead and seat the nock in the arrow. You should be lined up perfectly.

Yer kiddin me?? 70 bills for a jig that you can't adjust the nock reciever?? You really can't adjust that thing for cock vane up or to the side? That surprises me, my Grayling costs half that much and it's adjustable...

I just got a Bitz last week. I had about 35 arrows with one sliced vane. I learned it's much easier to do all three vanes and be exact!It's a bitch trying to align for one vane! But,I like the jig anyway.[8D]
I now have more arrows than I know what to do with. Oh well.:D

Yeah I just do all three too, since I've owned the bitz I've learned that arrows will fly just fine with two good feathers if your bow is tuned:D

Ditto.

You can adjust it to move the fletches sloghtly one way or another or switch out nock recievers to put the cock feather on the side or for 2 or 4 fletches.
All these years I thought my greyling was subpar to a blitz, I sure feel better now! ;)

I just used a bitz for the first time the past few days. I bought it cause it got the overwhelming nod as the best one out there. After using it, if it is the best one, then there are some really sorry arrow flethcers out there. I was not that impressed. Now I see another reason its not that great.

It works like this.
Just put your arrow in the jig without the clamp.
Hold the nock knob stationary while rotating the arrow so thata goodfletch is re-indexed where the clamp would normally be.
Put the clamp onthe good fletch to prove it's in the right spot.
Then remove the clamp and redo your fletch the normal way.
Turn your nock back to match your other arrows when dry.
