Beginner Fletching ?

I know this may sound dumb, but what do you guys use for glue when attaching real feathers for fletching? And also are there any other steps/precautions to take when fletching with real feathers?(These are the store-bought type.)

Thanks, LT

I mostly use Fletch-tite Platinum. If you're using feathers, make sure you use the correct clamp.Feathers are either left wing or right wing--you need the appropriate clamp depending on the feather(left wing-left clamp,right-wing,right clamp)

Thanks Jim. I am using an Arizona EZ Fletch for carbon arrows. It has a right helical. Would this be OK for fletching right-wing feathers?

Thanks, LT

You can use any good fletching glue. There are some guys that use the gel type super glue and that works too. Another option is fletching tape. One thing to remember is to clean the shafts before fletching them I use 91% alcohol and it works great the 70% alcohol leaves a oil on the shafts and they wont adhere very well. one more thing is to not use to muck glue a little goes a long way.

If you're fletching feathers, check out Bohning's fletching tape....Very easy, quick and clean. No glue residue, and IMHO, for feathers it works better than glue.
