Default Looking for a quiet release for target and hunting use.

I know that this is going to sound a little exaggerated but now that I have the Bowtech Guardian, the loudest noise I hear when I shoot is the "click" of my release.

Prior to owning the Guardian, I didn't even know my release (Cobra Green Mamba 2) made any noise at all.

Instead of going to another wrist strap (buckle or velcro) I want to try a "target" style release that I can use for both target and hunting.

My 2 requirements are that it must be quiet AND must be at least a 3 finger release......no back-tension releases and no rope releases. Don't trust either enough to invest in them at this point.

Any suggestions? I've been looking at Carter releases.....someone from my league suggested the Stan releases.

Carter is probably your best bet. I've never shot one so can't suggest a model. Another one that is getting some rave reviews this year is the Saturday Night Special by Spott Hogg. Being as I have been shooting a Cascade for a lot of years this one piques my interest justa bit.

I have a Tru-ball stinger. It's a caliper style release that doesn't tear up your string (I use a string loop anyway) and it is completely quiet. I have two of them - carry one for a spare - and they're both dead silent.

Fingers. Mechanical releases will never be as quiet as what naturally grew on the ends of your hands.

I personally use the TruFire Hurricane w/ buckle and cant tell at all you are using a mechanical because there is no sound what so ever.

Carter, TRU Ball, and Stan all make excellent releases, the problem is that a release that has good characteristics for target use are rarely quiet. Doesn't seem to make a difference though. I killed 3x deer this last year shooting my TRU Ball ST3 and none of the deer seemed to hear it coming. I like the tru balls for hunting especially because you can use the modular wrist strap so you can't drop it. The ST3 and ST4 also use the open hook design which is really nice because you never have to cock/uncock it to get on the loop. You just cock it and leave it that way until you need to shoot.
