arrow weight (spec vs actual)
For the people out there that weigh their arrows.
I just bought a dozen Redhead Carbon Supreme (Carbon Express) 350 arrows. On the box it states that these arrows weigh 10.7 g/i. However, I weighed an arrow before I cut it and was a little shocked at the weight. For the 33 in shaft I expected the weight to be about 376 (shaft, Blazers, knock). I got almost 450. So, I put a 4 inch piece of the shaft on a scale and got 51 grains. This=(12.75 g/i). Isn't this false info or advertising on the product?
On a 29" arrow with Blazers, knock and insert I get 7.3 grains per pound.
Has anyone else seen this with their arrows? Could the extra weight be from the camo wrap that the arrows have? Also, would you return the arrows or not worry about the weight?

With some arrows camo weighs more than just plain black. I personaly shoot goldtips and they are pretty close on the advertised weight. Even though they are close I still weigh a blank shaft, three vanes and the nock and insertbeforeI make up a dozen arrows so I know what the final weight will be give or take a couple of grains.

It looks to me like you got the Redhead carcbon supreme HUNTERS,they are camo and are listed to be 11 or 12 gr per inch. The regulars are black.

RE: arrow weight (spec vs actual)
I probably should have just bought the Eastons. I saw the weight online. however, the box has 10.7 g/i clearly printed on it. and, I called customer service and they emailed me a value of 9.8. Which I knew was not correct. I should have figured that the heaviest number they have listed would be correct. The question is. If the box has 10.7 and they are not. Wouldn't I be able to return them?

Not once they have been cut.I would quess the best you could hope for is to call them, state your case, calmly and you might get a certificate.
You MIGHT get your money back but I wouldn't count on it.

RE: arrow weight (spec vs actual)
Thank you for your input on this subject. I've decided to use the arrows for practice and maybe 3-D shoots. I only paid $48 for the dozen anyway. I Robin Hooded one yesterday anyway. So, I'll pick-up some Easton or other name brand that I know arethe weightlistedand not get the camo ones to boot. Thanks again.
