Red Dots on a bow

Anyone ever use a red dot scope on a bow? I use them on my shotguns and love them. I'm wondering if they work as well on a bow.

They work, but you have to remember it's only a single pin sight. So you are stuck to a fixed yardage unless you are good at holding over or aiming low at certain distances. Unless you get one on a sliding mount.

Good ones are also pretty expensive when you combine the scope and mount.

They are also heavy and you have the whole battery and mechanical failure thing to worry about.

They do work well though once you get them set up. I used one off and on for a while and liked it. Ended up going back to a peep and fiber optic sight though.

Also consider they are illegal in some states for bowhunting. Make sure you check your regs before you go through the trouble of installing one.

PITA to set up! BUT, pretty nice when you get it done, if it doesn't move on ya....HHA makes one on a slider so you can adjust for yardage.
