4 Blade Broadheads

Someone had said to me that you do not have to tune 4 Blade broadheads. Is this true? Would greatly appreciate any input! Thank You

I totally disagree with that. I don't care what kind of broadhead you're shooting it's going to shoot it's best from a well tuned bow. I shoot slicktricks myself as well as thunderheads and even though slicktricks mayshoot a little better than another broadhead from an untuned bow they still need to be tuned to get the best performance out of that head just like any other headno matter if it's 3 or 4 blade. However this is just my opinion. :D

I'm in total agreement with this post. For the most part any head can and will plane off course if the bow/arrow combo is not tuned for best arrow flight. And the heads must first be aligned as perfect as can be with the shaft.

I would have to agree that most broadheads should be tuned or checked. Now that said I have never per say tuned my bow. I use the field points then use the broadhead to check flight and hit on target vs. the field points...... found some don't fly as good as others even from a tuned bow! OR consistent with field points!

I have been shooting Muzzy 130gr 4 blade broadheads for 20yrs now and they will plane. But the trick with 4 blade heads I found is to install them so they look like an X. Your bow still needs to be tuned and the broadhead must be true to the shaft.

This is a funny thing my bow is I probably not tuned perfect but when I was shooting my practice arrows and then I shot two of my Slick Tricks they were so close that they cut off two flecthes from my practice arrows at 30 yards.

I agree, if you want the best performance out of your bow....tune it!

I would never listen to that someone ever again. They are obviously not well informed in the ways of tuning a bow or tuning your bow for broadheads.
You DEFINETLY have to tune for BH's!
