Is my bow set at 65% or 75%?
The Vectrix just came in over the weekend and today I got to shoot it for the first time. What I don't know is where the let-off is set at. On the lower cam there are 2 threaded holes; next to one it says 65%; next to the other it says 75%. Nothing is screwed into either of those holes.Knowing nothing about bows, I presume that something has to be screwed into one of those holes and attached to the string to engage 65 or 75 percent?
When I ordered the bow, the shop owner asked if I wanted 65 or 80% let-off andI told him 80. That brings up another question: why doesthe 75% number appear on the cam when the Vectrix is only offered in 65and 80%?Now thatI got to shootthe bow for an hour, the let-off doesn't seem to be much different than my old 65% let-off Cybertec. I don't have theCybertec anymore to compare the two so how can I tell where my let-off is set at? |

The cam on the Vectrix is offered in 65% or 75% letoff, your shop was probably just generalizing. I haven't had a chance to play with the cams yet,so I am not sure if they rotate to achieve letoff or use a stop peg,I am sure someone will be able to tell you. |

I forget, does higher let-off slow your bow or does lower let-off slow your bow?

RE: Is my bow set at 65% or 75%?
All things being equal, the higher letoff is slower BUT when the letoff is adjustable,it usually means drawing a little longer to achieve the letoff so it offsets or the higher letoff is faster.

jfyi - I called the pro shop and they said if there's nothing screwed into the threaded holes this means the bow is set at the max let-off which is somewhere near 80. Screwing the stops into the 65 or 75 holes will produce respective let-off.

There really is not all that much info that needs to be communicated is there. The fact that it is not chaps my hide. One reason I refuse to call any place a pro shop until they prove it and I hold manufactures responsible.
I hear Ross bows are different. |
RE: Is my bow set at 65% or 75%?
If you screw the drawstop peg in the 65% hole you will need togive your buss cable 2-3 twists to maintain the best cam sync. Have a pro shop do this for you. That drawstop also gives you a harder wall. On my Vectrix, I likeit betterwithout the peg in (75% let off), softer wall.Personal preferance.;)
