You may have to ream the peep out with a corresponding drill diameter for the correct sight angle at full draw.

Either that or get a Genesis peep that uses a "ball and socket" arrangement so you can adjust the sightline to your preference regardless of string angle.

I use a Shurz-A-Peep on my HavocTec at 31 1/2 ATA. I also used it on my Parker Challenger another short ATA bow. Just curious if your friend thinks it is hard to see through as well?

I was using a tube type on my 31" a to a and the part that the tubing slips over on the peep protruded down into your view through the peep. It covered like the top 1/3 of the "circle" you see through.
I switched to the Shurz-a-peep 2x2 and I'm completely satisfied with it. The hole is actually taper cut so that your view should be fine reguardless of your string angle. This is one in large or hunter size. I'm changing it out for a small one for non-hunting season shooting and I don't forsee any problems. If I have any, I'll be sure to share them here.

I am not sure about using a peep sight with rubber tubing, but my Fletcher Tru Peep lines up great every time. In fact, if you adjust the string twist correctly, you don't even have to use the D Loop to line it up. It is perfect every time. It's all in the string twists. Usually a half or full twist will fix the problem. I would trash the rubber tubing, and go with a Tru Peep or SherzAPeep.

On my short ATA BowTechs I use Fletcher tru peeps also. I tried others and found these work the best for me and my set up.

I have the same problem with my pick-a-peep sight.
It angles down at my arrow rest. I have been looking through an oval with it for the last two years. 35 inch axle-to-axle bow and 27 inch draw length.

Something else to consider is the draw length in relation to the axle to axle length (or, technically, the string exit point on the cam length). In other words, a longer draw length causes a sharper string angle on a shorter bow.

I use a Shurz A Peep 3 way as well on a 31.75 inch bow with a 31 inch draw length...no problem here either.
