Lumenok question

Tried to use a Lumenok for the first time today. Actually read the instructions before installing it, and still can't get it to work right. Jumped across the connections and the thing lit up just fine. Is the carbon supposed to conduct the current between the connections? Does carbon conduct electricity? Can't remember back to whatever class I should've learned that in.

Yes that's what is suppose to happen.

HoweverI have had way too many customers with lumenocks that don't work that I had to exchange out. I will be stocking Tracer nocks this year instead of lumenocks. The tracer nocksuse a magnet and a magnetic circuit in the nockand seem to be much more reliable than lumenocks. They also have the added benefit of being able to change batteries when they run downand change the nock should you break one or want a different color.

RE: Lumenok question

I have been using lumies for a while and have had limited problems with them in my carbon arrows. They are bright and only rarely have I had a problem with them lighting up. But one of those times led me on a wild goose chase. So this year I will be trying the Tracer as well. Maybe I'll check prices at "bigbulls" once he gets them in.

Thanks for the info. I bought the Lumenok to avoid those wild goose chases, so I don't want to take a chance that one won't work. Think I'll look into the Tracer.

The bacl of your arrow needs to be squared up. Take it to a shop and let them trim a little off the back of the arrow and you should be good to go. Most problems with them not working can be attributed to just that problem with the arrow.

I've used a lumenok for a few years and haven't had any problems. Has anyone tried the Archers Flame? I've only seen them online, but they look very bright.
