bows too short for finger shooters??

i have a parker hunter mag..not sure of axle to axle, but i have a 31" draw and when i draw back the nock slides off the string a little because the angle of the string and arrow makes is maybe like 50 deg. or so., my arrows are long enough, just the nock comes off a little.....

so the question....i can't afford another bow but i want to know if you guys now of any longer nocks? they would have to have longer points i guess to keep it on the string or should i lower my draw and try to figure that out??

thanks,
Josh

I dont think you are going to find longer nocks :(

But for your draw lenght and shooting fingers you should be using a bow with no less than a 38" axle to axle bow

You could try shooting it with 2 fingers instead of 3 but otherwise I think your options are to get a longer ATA bow or switch to a release. You want the bottom of the nock groove touching the string, longer ears on your nocks aren't going to solve the problem.

Wow, my fingers hurt just listing to you.

Anyway, you may want to try a nock which does not have the additional ridges inside the groove. This may help in that the entire nock will be pressed onto the string instead of just a small bit. Something like a Mercury Nock.

I shoot a 36" ATA with fingers, and that's a bit too short.
I've heard other finger shooters recommend shooting with 3 fingers under the nock instead of 1 up and 2 down. Never tried it though. After 26 years, it's hard to change.

I've had verygood luck with the Easton Super Uni-nocks staying where they are supposed to be.

I shoot finger style with an extremely long draw length. The apex of the string at full draw will be quite different with fingers compared to a release aid. I was told that to establish the correct axle to axle length on a finger style bow isto add 12" to your draw length.

add 12" to your draw length.
Yikes. That would put me and JNTURK at 43"ATA.

I shoot 30" draw length and a 36" ata. One finger above and two below. I have no problems but I do have skinny fingers.

I practiced shooting with fingers on my Allegiance in case i left my release at home.I shoot pretty good out to 25 yards. The only thing is i am about 2 inches high.

thanks guys...yea i was shooting an old jennings and also a older high country all with 31 draw and it was ok, but this parker is just a little to short..i may try to lower it to 30 inches on the draw..i usually shoot with two fingers, one on top and one on buttom.....i may also try adjusting my fingers a little that may help....

i will look into those nocks as well...
