Default Arrow length

I'm about to order some arrows. I'm assuming the length of the arrow, as listed in the catalog, is just the shaft of the arrow and does not include the nock or nock insert? Also, if my length of pull is 29", do I want to geta little longer arrow just to make sure I have clearance with the broadheads? Thx. Roskoe

Depends on a few things.....What rest are you using, and what broadheads...?

I'm using a whisker biscuit rest and standard muzzy broadheads.

You'll most likely be able to use 28" actually.....My DL is 30 and I shoot 29" arrows....The whisker buscuit actually sits behind the shelf of your bow....I would bet 28's would work..

Best thing would be to find someone w/ a long arrow and draw it, marking where you want the arrows cut...leave about 1" beyond the rest.

OK - I currentlyhave some arrows and can determine whether a given arrow is too short. My question is when I order a 28" arrow from Cabela's, am I ordering a 28" arrow shaft - with the nock making the arrow actually 28.5" or so long? Or is the stated arrow length from the bowstring nocking point to the end of the shaft? Thanks. JB

Generally, you measure an arrow from the bottom of the V groove of the nock to the end of the shaft...Not including the point.

Make sense?

I use a drop away rest and use 29" arrows (my DL is 30"). Works real well for me.

Draw length has nothing to do with your arrow length. The way to tell how long you want your arrow is to nock one that hasn't been cut (or is too long) and make a mark about 1/2 - 1" passed the rest. Use that to measure how long you should have the arrow. Each bow is different. The shape of the riser and where the rest is varies greatly from bow to bow.
