Setting an adjustable release

I just bought a Tru-ball copperhead XT. It is definitely a big upgrade for me. It came with understandable instructions on how to set the release. My question is, are there things that I should be aware in setting it? It is my first adustable release so want to be careful, but safely set it for a light release. Thanks ahead of time.

RE: Setting an adjustable release

I adjust mine just like I would a rifle trigger; find a way to put it under tension when cocked (not on a drawn bow!) <a loop attached to a doorknob may work>, while pulling on it adjust the sear tension down until the release fires, then increase the sear tension back up 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Do the same for trigger travel.

Thanks for the ideas, the doorknob idea makes sense.
