New Spot Hogg Sight and Accessory

Anyone see the new attachment for existing Spot Hoggs? Man that thing looks sweet. Basically, you can add wrapped fiber to your Hogg sight.
Its also evidentally standard on all new models.

Props to Spot Hogg on this one. No prices yet. Hopefully it won't cost half the price of the site because I have to have one of these.

Here's the advertisement.

Yeah, Isaw that over on AT.Its pretty sweet. I have three Hoggs that could use that treatment.

The first time I'm seeing this. I'll definitely make it my duty to look for it at the ATA show. Looks like it will carry a 'price'.

Here's a better pic of the site.

Ampa, I agree about the price tag. I just hope the upgrade kit isn't out of control. I just spent 20.00 on fitz fibers and tubing to get mine brighter as is.

Muzzy, I am surely going to have to bite the bullet and get myself two of those Hogg Wraps. Your last picture of the sight convinced me.
I'm hoping there's no vibration when this wrap if fitted. It looks like it is secured with four screws, two top/two bottom.

ampa, that's the first thing i thought too. every aperture i've had wrapped like that starts buzzing after a while. i'll look at them at the show and ask what they've done to counter that - and if someone asks or i remember on my own i'll report what they say. john

8 inches of fibers for under 8.00 bucks.. Works great!

Rev, I have a similar setup on my Hogg right now too. However, looking at the pics of the new Hogg attachment, its much better and more protected than running the fibers down the side of the sight. If its under 50.00, count me in.

Wonder where you got the idea from to do that Bob;):):D

MM88 it cost me about 8 bucks to do both my Hogg-it's.

Not sure if I would pay $50 for the upgrade tho

Okay Mr. Humility.

Ausie, I just did my Hogg with Fitz and like the added brightness. However, I'm not real fond of where it connects into the pin. That is where it would most likely break because you can get the tube to stay tight against it. This is where this new add-on is going to shine IMO. The fiber is protected at all times.

The way I have mine now, I would worry about something getting snagged or hung up on the fiber tubing material as it goes back against the sight. Its tight against it, but still, not nearly as protected as it would be with the add-on.

The large 5-pin wrap kit will be available around the first of Feb. The 7-pin and small guard 5-pin around March/April.

The kit for the 5-pin is $69.95 and the 7-pin is $89.95.

I found this information on another site.

The large pin guard 5 pin model is available. I think they are sold out though. Like I said I should have the sight by the end of next week. I paid $188.00 fo rthe sight with the wrap installed.

i checked them out at the show - they look nice. each fiber is inside its own tubule, and each tubule has its own track around the aperture. it looks secure. i really want to hear about these after 6 months of shooting. the way they've worked it i don't think it will ever start buzzing, or if it does i think you could just tighten the tubules (which i think the only buzzing would come if they stretch).

Yep, the price above is correct. The new Hogg Wrap wil run you atleast $70 and the finished sight will run $265!

That is a lot of money for a sight but I'm glad to see Sopt Hogg has finally offered an option for there easily broken and damged fibers!

I just bought a finished sight for 188.00, where did you hear 265.00. You would be better off to buy the sight for 165.00 and the wrap for 70.00 for a total of 235.00

I got it from sean on archerytalk. He has connections with spot hogg. He told me that he took the last one they had and it would be weeks and weeks before they had more ready.

Wow, 70.00 dollers for the kit for existing sights. Thats pretty rough IMO. I surely hope they reconsider that price down the road. I'll buy, not willingly, but I'll buy it.:D I love my Hogg, and other than pin brightness, can't see any weakness's in them.It just seems the high price for the upgrade is a slap in the face to those who already own their sights.

I agree. But keep in mind this is MSRP and not exactly what you will find them for from your local dealers and online stores. I bet you will be able to pick one up for $55-$60.

I would say, Buckeye hit the nail on the head. $70 seems like gouging to me. I honestly don't think that every item should carrya 100% mark-up. Nevertheless, you must have heard dealers talking about not making much moneyon a bow, so they look to their accessory line to make the dough!
I can live with a $55 ~ $57 price tag, but $70 is taking it to the limit--ouch!
