spin wing vanes

How many people use spin wing vanes or curly vanes.Thought about trying them on 3-d next year but not for sure.l have not seen any body shooting these.Just wondering if they hold up and fly good or just stick with my small vanes.

RE: spin wing vanes

I'm using Kurly Vanes. went from 2" to 2 7/8" (biggest they make) to ease the fears of my old fashioned hunting buddies (Yes, with my set up, I can hit the SAME spot as my field points with fixed blades (4 blade 1 1/8") at 288 fps!!!
I use a drop away rest, so I have no fears about clearance (Now up to 301 fps...NO contact!)
They hold up well as long as you don't go THROUGH targets with them, and don't put heavy things on them while they are in the quiver (don't ask)
They are lighter than feathers....something to consider when thinking of FOC, waterproof, and quieter than feathers as well.
I am 100% happy with them EVEN for hunting!
IMNSHO they are also brighter than vanes/feathers if you get floro colors.

RE: spin wing vanes

I have been shooting spin-wings for over six years. I shoot them out of all of my bows from 3-d to hunting. Clearance problems are easily resolved by turning the shaft and reading the directions enclosed in the packaging. These vanes are much easier to replace and use then other vanes. If you would like some os these vanes to try send me an e-mail and give me your setup info and I can get you some.

Thanks guys for the info i believe i will give them a try.Far as clearance goes with them should have no problem with a trophy taker. It seems to me more spin the better, but may be wrong. See what happens
