Reduce poundage during off season???
A question for those of you who don't shoot year round.I tend not to shoot my bow between January and June. I know many archers cranked the draw weight down with older model bows. With today's "super" bows with advanced materials and technology, do most of you stillreduce your draw weight during the off season?
I know many of you shoot all year long. Honestly, I don't. I spend a lot of time fishing and other outdoor interests, but I still want to take proper care of my equipment. I shoot a Mathews Ovation and whether you love Mathews or hate 'em, it's still an expensive toy and I want to take care of my baby!;)Thanks! |
RE: Reduce poundage during off season???
it is un-necessary

RE: Reduce poundage during off season???
i have never realy heard of anyone lowering the poundage of there bow during the off season. I would not and never will, but i shot all year round and even when people around here are lowering theres for 3d i do not. I shot the same rig as when i hunt.

RE: Reduce poundage during off season???
I do but not to keep any strain off the bow. I crank it up during hunting season to get the faster/flatter trajectory. I turn it down in the offseason to keep from getting tired when shooting leagues or just practicing.
