Draw length measuring?
 

My wife is going to take up bow hunting now and I am going to get her a Parker Challenger II, but we do not have any local bow shops or a recurve for me to measure her draw length. I have heard that I can measure her finger tip to finger tip against a wall and use half that measurement. Has anyone ever used this method and/or is there another way? Thanks!

Second method.
Have her extend both arms out in front of her touching her fingertips.
Use a yard stickOR tape measure and hold it against her neck below her chin and measure the distance to her fingertips in front of her. Have her relax and don't FORCE the arms forward. Works every time.

The wingspan method has been discussed on here before, and although it can be a good starting point, it is often off by a lot on some people. Also, it's important to remember some bows are actually longer in DL than advertised, so you can't always go by what the manufacturer says. Best bet is to find a shop and find bows near your range you found by the wingspan method and draw them back and see how they feel.

Draw Length can be determined by a measurement known as 'wingspan.' This is simply a measurement and has nothing to do with how you actually draw back your bow.

How to measure your wingspan:

1) Lean against a wall, standing as close to the wall as possible with back flat.
2) Extend your arms and fingers out as far as possible
3) Have someone make a pencil mark at the end of both your fingers tips
4) Measure this distance

This is your wingspan. Find this number in the chart below to find its matching Draw Length. (For example, a wingspan of 67" would be a draw length of 26")

Thanks guys, the last method worked. I measured it that way and we went to a pro shop today were we found it to be correct. We ordered her bow, should be here in a week! Thanks!
