Default Bowtech bows

I was talking to a guy that works in a shop yesterday. They primarely sell Mathews so I knew it was a statement that would get reaction.I told him they should pick up Bowtech as no one has the line within the area. I also said they seemed to be the next big move in archery. He said, why don't you shoot one as he has. He said they were loud and had huge hand shock. I was very surprised as this guy usually tells it like it is. I have to try one now, just to see if he was right. Don

I shoot the BK II @ 71lbs, 30" draw. I use a 8" stealth stab & loose grip & have no issues with hand shock. I believe the hand shock & noise issues that this particular shop owner is speaking of is just a general easy response by the "Mathews" groupies to try & knock the new climber company.

The exact opposite was expressed by the shop owners & customers when I was shooting my bow in their indoor range. If the BT’s are louder I would say they are louder because the people who shoot them are interested in a flat trajectory, & higher KE, therefore shoot lighter grain weights which does increase the noise. I have limb savers, a cable guide vibrablock, & cable silencers, nothing on the string, & a 8” stealth stab. Bow is plenty quiet, & no hand shock.

To your statement that you are going to have to shoot one, just remember,” A luxury once sampled become a necessity.”

I agree with AB

I dare say that he has probably never even shot one himself.

Go and try one gee try all the BT line just remember to take the credit card or check book with you cause after you shoot one your gonna want it.

Without giving my 100% biased opinion. I'll suggest to you that you do go try them out. Several models if possible, and then offer your findings back to the shop owner. Good or bad opinons mind you. Just be sure to base your own opinions first.

It sounds to me the said shop owner was possibly just offering you someone elses opinions and not his own. Dunno tho he could have tried them out at one time and just decided not to sell them.

I constantly get tech emails and also by people at shows (where we allow all the bows to be shot) asking the same thing. &quot;Do they have a lot of hand shock?&quot; The best and most honest advice I can offer to them is to try them for themselves and judge them for themselves. It's only fair that way. My opinion on hand shock or recoil WILL NOT be the same as everyone elses. No way!

I had three people this year tell me the Patriot had a lot of hand shock at all the shows I ran the booth at. The overall number of poeple that tried out the Patriot was for sure in the thousands (at the 9 shows I attended) so I'd say that's a pretty good track record for the Patriot. For the most part the people were simply amazed with the bow judging by their WOW, Damn, Geez and other remarks after shooting them. The coolest part is after the shot they generally turn the bow to the side and just stare at it in amazment....It's funny to see.

Regardless I didn't argue with the three that said it had a lot of hand shock...That was their opinion and it probably would have been wrong of me to argue with them about it.

I'm sure you would expect to hear some negatives from a dealer that doesn't or can't sell that particular brand, right?

Try em for youself...Let us know...

Bowtech makes a great bow, I do see some close design features between some of the Matheews & the Bowtechs but thats not a big deal. Both are great bows & I really like a few models by bowtech such as the Pro 38 & the Patriot. I seenothing wrong with them & they are well worth checking out.

Don, this sounds like a shop selling what they sell. I got a Mighty Mite for my bro-law. He took it to a shop where he lives and had them set it up. They sold Hoyt and Mmmaaattt.... as their top line bows. The comments from the people there were, &quot; Why don't we sell these bows?&quot;, after shooting the MM. That statement speaks volumes to me.<img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>

The one thing I observed from the bowtechs is that there is STRING vibration. That is pretty much it. I work part-time in an archery shop and anytime someone has a critique about the bowtechs it os mostly on the string vibration and some string noise. But with string leeches or cat whiskers those simple problems are eliminated. That is my 2 cents. Thanks for reading my rambling. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> It sounds like this guy might have some Hidden Agenda?

I have A New 2002 Merlin Lite Storm Solo Cam and a 2001 Pro 38 that I got used. The Merlin is sitting in the case and is up for sale, WHY. Simple the Bowtech is ssoooooooooo much smoother. The handshock issue is one that I am concrned about also. There is virtually none that I can feel. The Bowtech also has the infinity Cam which is a great feature in itself. Don' t get me wrong, I' m not against Mathews in any way (matter of fact I have a new Icon on order as we speak). I just don' t like it when anyone especially a dealer who bad mouths a product that he has probalbly never shot. Theres not a damn thing wrong with Bowtech. It is a fine bow and thats all there is to it.

My brother in law sells bowtech and not one of their bows that I shot and I shot all except the Bk. had any handshock, and was quiet and there was nothing on it at all.Sounds like that guy was scared because of all the attention that Bowtech has been stirring up and has the mathew guys looking behind their backs now.You can only be top dog far so long.
