RE: Best drop away rest?
If you're looking for a pure hunting rest, I'd highly recommend looking at the APA Twister Safari. I've been using one for 2 years now and can't think of another rest that does what it can. FULL containment from rest to draw. You can turn the bow upside down if you want. Its very quiet and simple to setup. Vane clearance is also not hard to obtain with this rest. I love the thing. If I end up with a new bow this year for whatever reason, its going on it for sure.

MZE I have 2 and love them

RE: Best drop away rest?
If you have a good shop nearby I'd say try all they have. What's good for one person is not always good for another. If for hunting then I'd say the one with the least amount of bells and whistles. KISS.
But from the dozen or so that I've tried I'd have to say the best one is the GKF Infiniti dropper. In reality they all do basically the same thing. |
RE: Best drop away rest?
I have a ripcord and love it. Very easy to set up and tune.

RE: Best drop away rest?
It used to be a MZE for me , have changed to vaportrails limbdriver , and like it better , Im giveing QAD another try allso , as soon as some strings come in for me , cant beat the total capture plus fallaway features , if I can get clearance . I had problems with the muzzy rest this year with the hook snaging and turning/ moveing , on a spot and stalk elk hunt . the only other problem Ive had with the muzzy was the arm breaking , thats happened a number of time to me .

RE: Best drop away rest?
My favorite all around is my current HTM.
Not for everyone as it's big and heavy but have notseen its equal construction wise. It reminds me ofa Trophy Taker on steriods. ![]() Sag. ![]() |
RE: Best drop away rest?
i've got some other htm products sag. they aren't fooling around.

RE: Best drop away rest?
one is no better than the other
they all work equally as good just depends on how much you are willing to shell out, higher priced rests are no better than the new cobras that can be had at Wally world for a fraction of the cost of a drop zone or a zero effect with that said check out the classified section of the forum New TKO's for sale there cheap;) |
RE: Best drop away rest?
QAD for me. works great.

RE: Best drop away rest?
I use a Ripcord and love it. Is it the best? I doubt it, but it works for me.

RE: Best drop away rest?
I went with a Ripcord this spring and Ilove it. It had to be the most noticable and benificialchange I have made.

RE: Best drop away rest?
Who knows? I am currently using a Muzzy New Generation rest and though I killed a deer with it the jury is still out. I will admit its stronger than I thought and quiet. I am most impressed with the Schaffer, though for hunting purposes it may not be the best. But the Schaffer was the easiest to set up and toughest built rest I have ever used.

RE: Best drop away rest?
I've got a Muzzy Next Generation (you can search for a full review I wrote up on it earlier in the year) and the previously mentioned APA Twister Safari... I like them both about as equally as well.

RE: Best drop away rest?
I like the LimbDriver by VaporTrail.

RE: Best drop away rest?
Good news on the QAD , they have made improvements to the rest , and the updated version is working great for me , perfect clearance , great arrow flight , and its quiet allso , that combined with the full capture feature , make it a very nice rest , now for the indurance test , hope it continues to function this way for a few years .
