sights for finger shooters

Hey all, I'm new here and have a question. I shoot fingers, two under and one over nock. I anchor with my middle finger at the corner of my mouth. I also shoot a recurve this way and would like to continue with this style if possible. The problem I am having is that I have to adjust the sight as low as it will go and can only get a 20 maybe 25 yard pin adjusted. I run out of room below that. The only way I see to get the pins centered in the sight window would be to make new mounting holes in the riser to move the whole sight down. Is this a common problem for finger shooters or could the mounting holes in my bow be incorrectly placed?

Thanks

Darton Viper bow with Viper Predator Hunter sight with no peep.

Welcome somedhunter,
I to shoot fingers and go 1 over, 1 under and put index on corner of mouth and use a copper john hunter 5 pin and it works great. Will comment more later, got to go.;)

Change which finger you anchor in the corner of your mouth - try your pointer finger I think that might give you more room with your site.

deertale has it figured out. By using the index finger in the corner of the mouth you are lwering your anchor point. This should allow you to get a lot more yardage out of the sight, negating the need to alter the sight.

Only you can see it, but by lowering the whole sight is the guard going to be in danger of getting shot? Think about it.

paka, do you mean point or gesture? LOL. Yes pointer and index are one in the same--at least to me.

somdhunter,

are you using a peepsight?

make sure your not tilting your head downward to look through your peep if you are raise your peep sight up and your sight bracket will follow that lead...or if you arent using a peep the same applys...keep your head up...

***anchor point may also be the culprit, if your anchorpoint is high...your sights will sit low in the bracket. if you lower your anchorpoint it could remedy the problem as well.
