RE: blazers on a right helical

You should try and set Blazers with a helical if you have the jig.

You won't notice as much helical wrap with Blazers as you would with 4-5" feathers or vanes, but that is because they are shorter. The flight effect is the same with Blazers, so you don't have to make the helical more extreme by adding offset toit. The blazers should - with a helical -stabilize arrows as effectively as any 4-5"vane or feather with the samehelical.

The only reason to move towards Blazers as opposed to 4-5" vanes or feathers (aside from the "Dude those look Cool!" effect) is for arrow rest clearance with smaller diameter arrows, or if you have an extremely low FOC (front-of-center), although 4" feathers would solve that problem just as effectively.Fletching with an offset serves no real purpose as you can easily clear any prong style rest with a 2 degree offset fletch using 4-5" vanes/feathers.

Blazers are especially un-necessary if you use a drop-away rest, or are still using larger diameter arrows 22/64ths or larger. I use a right helical and was not able to clear a GKF Premier rest with 4" vanes when I moved from 2413's to 20/64ths carbons, which is why I switched to Blazers. The Blazersseem to work as well, but I have also switched broadheads so the comparitive is not technically precise. Personally if I move to a Drop-Away rest I will fletch with 4" feathers - same (orless) weight and IMO better flight stabilization.

i use a rt helical jig, (bitzenburg) and put a fairly strong offset on them... and they fly amazing... used the same setup on different arrows for friends and stuff, they all have flown great
