Pics or it didn't happen! ;) Glad to see you all are loving the new Black Ice. I was contemplating that bow as one of the three possible for my 2007 bow. Decided to go with the Guardian, but the Black Ice still appeals to me.
That is a thought that crossed my mind since shooting the Black Ice. Though, in the big picture, Diamond and Bowtech are one and the same I wonder how many folks will opt for the Black Ice over something like the Tribute, Allegiance, etc....

I just shot the Black Ice the other night. 10 arrows, all touching. Granted this was only 20yds, butit was taken right off the rack. it was equipped w/a whisker biscuit, fiber optic sight & peep. No adjusting @ all.Set @ 65#, 29DL, various arrows. Unbelievable. Not only is it smooth on the draw, but let down doesn't rip your shoulder out of its socket. I plan on trying the Guardian this afternoon. Hopefully, I'll make my mind up this month; decisions, decisions.

I would be interested to hear your comments on the Guardian. I think your experience mirrors exactly what I was trying relate in my experience with the Black Ice. Though the extremely low level of recoil and vibration are what I expected to notice first with this bow it was actually the accuracy level that surprised me the most.

PABowhntr,
I did shoot the Guardian on Monday night. It shot just as everyone has posted. No shock. It came off the rack w/just a sight & rest. But, I did shoot only 1 arrow. It was kinda of dissapointing that the staffer didn't offer more arrows. I did mention that I was considering the Black Ice, & he referred to that being the "big-box store" bows, & that is Bowtech's old technology. Not too helpful. As for $$ comparison, I don't know if there is that much of a gain @ $750 vs $620. I'll try another shop & give the Guardian another go. But right now, I'm leaning toward the Black Ice because of the $$. Like every other "workn stiff tryin to make a livin", I need to make my $$ go far. Have U shot the Guardian yet, & what do u think?

I have yet to handle or shoot either the Guardian or the Commander. I think it will probably be some time before I do considering the demand for both bows right now. I have an order in for a Commander but have no clue when it will arrive. Once I do shoot either bow I will be sure to post my thoughts.

I think the comment on Diamond being "Old Bowtech Technology" is both true and false. The single cam design, in general, was in Bowtech's lineup in the past so in that sense it is true. On the other hand the Pinnacle cam has been redesigned significantly from any other of the previous Diamond/Bowtech single cam offerings plus the current riser/limb design is very similar to that of the Tribute.

Frank: Seeing that you really think about what goes into a bow, as clearly shown by your insightful reviews, I was wondering if you would like to take a shot at explaining why the Black Ice would be more accurate than a Victory (or that 2003 Patriot you had). I was thinking that it might have something to do with much better nock travel on the newer cam. Have you shot any broadheads with the bow (other than Steelheads, LOL). Just wondering. It sounds like a really nice bow. Thanks
