Help with bow adjustment/draw weight
 

I have my Bear whitetail legend I recently got used. Had a new string and peep installed and I put on a new rest and sights. My question is on the draw weight. They guy I had re-string it at the local sporting goods shop told me how to adjust the draw weight and to turn it equally on both ends. Sounds easy enough to me but it looks as if the previous owner had loosened one end but not the other. The top limb is raisedabout a 1/4 inch (maybe a hair less) and the lower is pretty much stright on with the bow and even. I'll attach a few pics so you get a better idea. Any help would be appreciated.

Measure from the bow limb right where it meets the riser to the string, adjust so both limbs are the same or crank them all the way down and start backing them out till the limbs are even.

crank the limb bolts all the way in just snug
then back out the limb bolt 1 full turn at a time on both ends do not back the limb bolts no more than 5 full turns. you do not want the limbs out side of the limbpockets.then check the tiller as rcgerchow indicated. Assuming that this is a 2 cam bow the distance from the limb pocket to the string should be the same distance.

I agree, bottom both limbs out, check your draw weight and loosen the bolts from there, Make sure you back both out the same amount of turns (not more than 5 each) checking your draw weight as you go to get to the weight you want. Once there you can set your tiller to how you want it. As noted tiller is the distance from the base of the limb (where it goes into the pocket) to the string. An even tiller will give you a good starting point and in many cases will only need slight adjustment (1/4 turn or so) or even none at all.

The way it is set up now your tiller looks WAY off and I doubt you wll get good arrow flight, not to mention one of your limbs is working much harder than the other as it has more tension and preload on it.

Get them even (by tightening) and go from there.

dont go more than 3 full turns out , that will equal apoximately 12 lbs
10 pounds is the recomended adjustment , unless you have a martin , then its 15 lbs which equates to 4 turns
