Bowtech Hush kit failure

Well after a good bit of shooting lately my Extreme VFT has finally broken one of my string silencers. I will need to replace them. What should I go with? Also, I know the string has speed buttons attached, what affect will these have if I don't use another set of hush kit silencers.

Just replace them with Sims string leeches; that's what I do.

Lots of pepole like the new bowjax , bowtech makes tie on replacements , so you dont have to press your bow

I used the new style string leach last go around and it did last a lot longer than the factory stuff. I recently replaced it with a new one, but if I get time today will install a bowjax since (according to a tribute shooter at the bowshop- his have yet to come off after lotsof shooting-we'll see) they last longer.

BTW, I only run one of anything up top and an STS below.

Same as Greg on the Leeches but use the ones made for compounds and crossbows. I did this on Matt/PA's recommendation, they work better than the originals plus picked up a few fps.

I switched to cat whiskers after mine flew off. I couldn't tell you how many people comment on my Tribute about how quiet it is. Of course, it was pretty quiet to begin with.;)

Well I put the bowjax on today and the bow is as quiet as with the simms (flat arm style) OR even quieter- definately not louder.

The speed also stayed the same I chronied before & after with the same arrow.

Sho-nuff, STS under the grip, silencer on top. I came up with this set up after test shooting in my ground blind. The one silencer up top really took out whtever the sts left behind noise wise. It wasn't easy to hear until shooting inside the enclosure- night & day difference inside there (before & after)
This is only on the tribute, on the Pat the silencer on top did nothing for it.

Did you finally give up on your STS?

I switched from string leeches to cat wiskers on my Outback this year and could not believehow much quieter it was, plus I think they look cooler(JMO)

I tok the original one back to Cabelas, but I kept eading so much good stuff about them I bought one of the custom made ones off Ebay. It doesn't use the block or anything, it just screws into the back rear mount stabilizer hole. Muuuuccchhhh cleaner look for sure. Im still up n the air n it. It still sounds like a slap to me but everyone around me says it's quiet so we'll see.
