Tuning drop away rest

I have a "Quik tune 2000" drop-away rest and cannot get paper tuned. Tear is straight up and down about one and half inches long with point low. Shoot a Hoyte ProTec. 62lbs. Carbon express hunter terminator in 6075. Only way I can get it smaller is to lock rest up. Help- [:o]

RE: Tuning drop away rest

My first thought would be that you are getting fletching contact. It could be that your rest height is to high and your nocking point is to low so when you shoot the fletching makes contact and causes your arrow to hit the rest and kick it up which is causing your severe low point high fletch tear. Check to see that your arrow is centered over the rest mounting hole when your rest is at full height and that your nocking point is set at around 3/16 fo 1/4 on a hoyt. You can spray some foot powder on the back of your arrow to use as an aid in determining if you are getting contact. Hope this helps you out and good luck.

Follow the instructions on this link to be sure that your rest is set up correctly, it sounds as if you have a timing issue.
