Merlin??
 

I was at the archery shop yesterday checking out new bows, the owner had me try a couple bows and then handed me a Merlin. I don't think I have ever touched a bow that has a draw as smooth as this. It was set up for 65# (I normally draw 62# with my bow) and this thing pulled back so smooth and easy. He told me it was made in England and it has a riser similar to Hoyt but in the front instead of the rear, let off is 70%. this bow has some very interesting features on it. Price range is 799.00 to 839.00 depending on the model you want. Has anybody owned or shot this bow and did they have any part or maintenance issues.

While I don't shoot a Merlin, maintainence issues is one of those things I doubt you will find with a Merlin.

Of the ones I have seen, the fit and finish of the Merlins has been superior to any other bow I have every looked at. While some may not like the feel of the Merlin, I don't think you will find anybody that will bash their quality.


If I had a Merlin dealer anywhere remotely close to me, I would probably be shooting one as well.

Merlins are almost a work of art in my opinion. If money were not an object it would be the next bow I own.

You probably drew one the hybred cam models, they worked with darton and have a system simular to the CPS cams. I think it's called the Omega?

Merlin is the only bow that has ever drawn my attention away from my custom Bowman Accu-Riser bows.
I shoot both Bowman and Merlin bowsand love them both !
Both have the highest level of craftsmanship I have seen.

Well it looks like some how, some way I am going to get one.Guess I'll sell my Rem 700 LSS 338 Ultra mag and use that money for the Merlin.

I was going to shoot for them but ran into some issues across the borders when they were younger company. They are definitely a fine piece of machinery. Quality you won't find in any other bow. The newer models prove they are here to stay. They listened to U.S. hunters and built us a bow. Now if we could get some U.S. companies to listen to us......

Heres a pic of my old max3000 [traded] with gibblets strings . You could not shoot groups with this bow , It wrecked arrows extreme accuracy .

You probably were shooting Alpha cams, they are super smooth with average speed.
The other cam is the Viper, which is very fast, and reasonably smooth.
Both cams are tack drivers on accuracy.
You won't be sorry if you buy this bow, because like everyone said, the fit and finish is second to none, and accuracy is excellent.

A buddy up at the sportmens club has the same bow but with the Alpha cams and it is a sweet shooter. I had to fight myself (actually my wife) not to buy an XS this year. lol
