High Country Archery??
I have been hunting for a while now, but I am new to this site and new to archery. I am barrowing my cousin bow and considering making him an offer to purchase it. It is a High Country "American series". What does everyone know about these bows? What would something like this be worth. It dose'nt really have the best sights or rest. It lacks a quiver and the camo is beginning to peel. An input at all would be cool. Thanks alot!

RE: High Country Archery??
Mr.Marley,
If you can get it cheap, go for it , that is if its comfy and shoots well. Figure for new strings, site, maybe a newer style rest ( $200) will it be worth it?? I cant bad mouth High County bows, I had one that was beaten into the ground and still shot well. There are some good bow packages out there or newer bows second hand for a pretty descent price . Good luck;) |
RE: High Country Archery??
There are cheap used bows everywhere. Don't get too hung up on what brand it is. Worry about the important stuff. Is the draw length exactly correct or can it be adjusted to be so? This is critical if you want to shoot well. Are the cams aligned with the string? Are the limbs sound, and the riser in good condition. When did it last have a new string and cable. Is the brace height appropriate for your heaviest hunting jacket? Is the length long enough to be forgiving? A visit to a local archery shop can be very beneficial when trying to figure this stuff out, espcially if you're new to archery.
If the bow meets these, don't worry about the name on it. It's irrelevant. You can then search ebay and see what others of this model have been sold for recently and make your offer accordingly. |
RE: High Country Archery??
I have 2 high country bows for sale online and just sold about 10 of them online and they sold for between $150 and $280. These were all brand new bows that were leftovers from 2003, 2004, and 2005.

Thanks for all of your input, I have shot the bow and really like it. I think I will do some more research on this bow and make an offer. Again thank you very very much for all the input!
