Default CAM QUESTION for MATHEWS

I bought a Mathews Switchback XT with 50/60 lb cams. I want to move up to 65lbs shooting weight. Can I push these cams this far or do I have to purchase the 60/70lb cams?

FYI: I had back problems due to two car accidents, none of which I have caused. As my back gains strength, I want to increasethe speed and power of my Mathews.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need limbs, not cams. The same cam will work on any weight limbs you need. And yes, to properly get 65lbs tuned you should get the limbs. You could always keep twisting the cable and string until you get to 65lbs, it would shoot OK and would be WAY faster than a 70lb limb XT set to 65lbs but who knows what the nock travel would be like or the valley or timing.

Fascinating. I wonder why I remember the switching of cams. Dare I even ask how much new limbs are?

I dont remember retail price on them, I believe in the area of $150? The good news is that you can sell your other set of limbs to help recover the cost though on either ebay or archerytalk or maybe even here.

I went to the shop today and have decided that for this season, I will stick with my 50/60lbs limbs. I have them set to 60 lbs so all should be good. Thanks for the info guys.

you need a new cam, not cams to change drawlength. you don't have to replace the idler. i just bought a new one for $85 shipped - brand new from the factory (thru the shop)- i have no idea if that's a good deal or not.
