Broadhead questions
My target points are great, really tight groups. When I switch to my broadheads, the groups drop about 3'' and 1" to the right at 20 yards. Everything is the same weight, the broadheads are TH 85's. This is a newer bow, so I'm still trying things out tuning wise. I never had this problem before, usually my broadheads are dead on. I'm shooting Beman BlackMax's 400's with 2'' straight blazers. Should I just adjust my sights to the broadheads, or try to dig a little deeper and figure this out?

RE: Broadhead questions
I would dig a little deeper, we will be able to just need some more info. What length arrows and what poundage are you shooting. This will get us started, I am sure some other guys will chime in to help also.

RE: Broadhead questions
sounds as if hes underspined for his heads and draw. try a heavier head try a 95 or 100 grain head

RE: Broadhead questions
Ash,
My arrow length is 27'' and my poundage is 58. Thanks |
RE: Broadhead questions
Move your nocking point down about 1/16th of an inch and your rest to the left about 1/32nd of an inch.

RE: Broadhead questions
What bigbulls said. And go to www.eastonarchery.com and download their tuning guide. It'll help.
Target or field points can and will group well even if a bow is grossly out of tune. When you stick those little wings on the front it shows imperfection in tune or form real quickly. In your case it sounds like just a bit of tweaking to the bow. |
RE: Broadhead questions
Maybe Blazers just don't provide enough stabilization for the broadheads? Most people seem to love Blazers, but I still wonder how much stabilization a 2" vane can offer, no matter how stiff it is. Just a thought.

RE: Broadhead questions
The Blazers work because they have a higher profile than other fletching and sometimes it causes problems due to the slightly taller blazers contacting the arrow rest.I'm a blazer fan!
