Hoyt Cam Swap?

I read your post on the Razortec and I am curious. Do you know if the new cam system can be swapped out on the my Cybertec? I really like the sounds of this system and am curious if I can make the switch.

Thanks buddy

Great Post by the way.

Sorry about editing your post Muzzy...but I had to reword the title as admin. is coming down hard in terms of the rules lately...<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Yes, it probably can be swapped. Several of the comments I have seen from Hoyt are that there are several models from last year that can be fitted with the new cam system. But, Hoyt is still working on producing the new models so you are probably going to have to wait until February or so to have everything delivered.

On the other hand replacing what you are going to need to replace to effectively make the swap....cams, cables, string, limbs....is probably going to cost about 2/3rds of what a new 2003 Cybertec would cost. Just something to consider.

Hope this helps.

No problem with the edit, thanks for answering. Are you saying the the 2003 XT2000 limbs are different than this years also? If I have to replace the limbs too, I'll just stick with the good old versacam.

Muzzyman88,
I think the limbs are the same, its the camo thats changed . You are going to be looking at deflection rate changes as well .
Our rep said my 3000 limbed CC+ Ultratec would lose about 15 lbs of draw weight if I swapped for the new cam.5.
Hope this helps

Muzzyman88,

Having read your post the versa cam should be able to be changed out with the cam.5.

My understandings is that the single cam can be swapped out with the new cams however the CC+ cannot be swapped without losing some poundage.

You shouldn't have to change your limbs just the cams.

Good Luck

Good Shooting

Well, MM88, it would appear that you have received quite a bit of good info. :)

Please be sure to let us know what happens if you do decide to swap them as I am sure there are others in the same boat as you.
