wraps

from the inexperienced bowhunter to all. I am getting ready to fletch some arrows and i keep reading about people putting wraps on with their blazers. Can someone explain what the wraps are?

hey mobo, I guess the question I should have asked, was what is the purpose of the wraps. I appreciate all of the knowledge that you are sharing with me. thanks.

What's the purpose???? Do you SEE those arrows??? They LOOK awesome!!!!!LOL.....there is a more practical reason, too. If your FOC is high, the added weight in the back could bring it down some, but the best reason is vane adhesion. Glue sticks to them really well.

They also make it easier to take the fletchings off when it is time to re-fletch...not much scraping. The bad part is if you need to only replace one fletching, you have to replace them all and put a new wrap on. Benifits out-weigh the negitives.

I agree w/ all the above.. Especially the removal of fletchings... it makes a much cleaner arrow and its faster...

Not to mention the great designs you can get.

BTW if you want to buy some look for "extreme arrow wraps" on ebay. They take a long time to ship, but they are good and veryinexpensive.

They are also very helpful in finding your arrows!! The bright colors showup well in the grass and brush.

Bingo!!! This is the number one reason I cap my arrows, and of course add cresting for decoration. It also aids in tracking your arrow while in flight to identify shot placement on your quarry.

I use a white wrap and fletchings so I can easily pick up the arrow after release. It helps in seeing the flight of your arrow.
