Refletching
I am going to refletch arrows and am going to put arrow raps and Blazer vanes what is the best glue super glue or regular fletching glue
|
RE: Refletching
Pretty much anything will work. Personally, I use Pine Ridge. Adhesion is so good w/ wraps even Fletch Tite works well...:D

RE: Refletching
I used AAE SpeedSet. I think it was the cheap stuff. I havent had a vane come loose at all, but I use a wrap, too, and I think elmers glue would hold with a wrap. [8D]

RE: Refletching
using with a wrap?
Just go to Home Depot or similar and you can get a 10 pack of generic super glue/gel super glue for about $4 or a 3 pack for maybe $1.99, instead of paying $5 for one tube of instant "fletching" glue. (same thing, different name) |
RE: Refletching
Another vote for AAE fast set gel. Works great on all fletching.

RE: Refletching
The AAEFast Set gel works great for me with feathers. I can fletch feathers as fast as vanes with it. If I get good contact all along the feather it only takes 5 to 10 seconds to reach the point where I can remove the clamp and move on. With Platinum and feathers, I find that I have to wait at least 15 minutes.
However, I don't have the dexterity to use it or other superglues with vanes. I end up making a mess. That's just me. Others can do a much better job. The fletchtite Platinum works much better for me with vanes. I have the time to get everything in place and it only takes a couple of minutes to set upenough toremove the clamp. |
