help- after 3 mos of accuracy..shooting low?
 

'05 Mathews Outback, 3 pin Impact collector sight, trophy taker drop away, 70# 29" using 28" goldtip XT hunter 100 grain 5575's. I think thats everthing. I have been pounding my target accurately for 3 months. This morning I shot and was way low. Thought that I had to tweak my sight a little and ended up lowering the sight almost to the end of the track...Still low?? Then I noticed that my kisser button and 2 nock collars around the string were sliding up the string after release. So I moved the sight back to where I had been accurate, and slide the nock collar points and kisser button lower, until I was accurate again. But they continued to slide up after release. Is this common- after a while do they need to be replaced when they start sliding?? What causes this?? Thanks for any and all input...

If you've got a set of nocking pliers, try making them tighter. Otherwise, just replace them. Let's not forget to retune that bow, either. ;)

Thanks mobow...looking back- I waxed my string for the first time ever last weekend and I waxed the entire draw string, including the wraps on top of the actual bow string that the kisser button and nock points are attached to. I wonderif the wax caused them to slide? Maybe I should just wax the main draw string above and below these additional wraps. When you say to retune the bow...I assume you just mean to keep tweaking it until I'm back to shooting extremely accurate? Thanks again

If your serving (that's what you called the wraps on the bow string) is the original, you might want to have it re-served. I have found that the factory serving is never as tight as I like it and I have always had some of the serving seperate after a few weeks of shooting a new string.

Yes, you should paper tune your bow again to ensure everything is set correctly and your arrows are flying true. These things sometimes just work their way loose, especially if you shoot alot. I routinely tighten all of that sort of stuff on my bow once a month. Reserve the peep, tighten the nock points, replace my string loop, that sort of stuff. It may seem like overkill, but I've not ever had any "surprises" either. ;)

I don't think it's the wax I wax everything top to bottom.

Did your string stretch?Try going to http://www.mathewsinc.com--they can give you the proper specs and what to try.

i had the same problem with my trykon and found out that the string stretched on me and i replaced it with a winners choice and now its perfect again
