Default Serving for STS?

I'm going to pick up a STS for my bow this week. Do you guys that use them have serving on your string where it contacts the STS?

My STS came with some serving to put on the string in that area, however, I have not found the need for it yet after a year of shooting with it. I do change my strings and cables every year though.

Mine is served. I recommend you do also as I did get some wear without it.

The best 40 bucks you can spend on a bow. Eliminates arm slap with heavy hunting clothes, cuts vibration down to nothing.

i had the early version w/ the sims for the string 'catcher' and it really didn't need serving. i've replaced it w/ the newer version and it sure needs serving on my bows. that navcom really fuzzes up my string i found out.

I've had the exact same experience as Gibblet.
On my original STS (Patriot)I don't need the string served, on my new STS (Tribute) it started fraying the string within 200 shots, so I served the area where it hits and the bow actually got quieter?

I didn't expect the noise level of the bow to be reduced, it just happened.

Gibblet, that is good to know. I have the old Sims version and that is why I haven't needed to serve it apparently. I am getting ready to put on new strings and cables along with the new replacement STS Navcom end, so I had better serve it it sounds like.
