Fletching Question?

I just bought a jig and some Blazers and am going to start fletching my own arrows. I am wondering what offset is best for a right handed shooter - left or right or does it make a difference?

RE: Fletching Question?

If you are shooting w/ a releae, it really doesn't matter. W/ a helical, you'll get a bit more spin, but not much. Those Blazers are so short, there's not much twist there.

RE: Fletching Question?

I think my blazers have a 1 degree offset. Don't think it would be necessary to fletch them helically. What do I know. Im learning too.

Right/Left doesn't matter with a release and shoot through arrow rests...I'm right handed and I offset left.

RE: Fletching Question?

I like to go with a right helical or offset.

You will notice (sometimes) while practicing with broadheads with a left helical your heads will tend to loosen on impacts from the shaft spining left.

With a right helical and therefore theshaft spinning to the right your heads will always stay tight.

RE: Fletching Question?

when i fletch an arrow using three of the same color vanes or feathers i just turn the nock so it lines up with oneand it can be up or down depending on the rest, these days most cock feathers should be up.

RE: Fletching Question?

Thanks guys. Most of my arrows have been fletched right offset so as long as there is no difference I will fletch mine the same way.
