Buff tuff cross weave?

i seen them last year now i see they make a different version. the new style uses weave on the rear of the arrow? im just wondering if the spine and wear ability is better with cross weave. they look nice anyway.

You are referring to the Carbon Express Maxima. They are pretty neat! Carbon arrows are all made one size, then sanded down to the appropriate specs. Not these rascals. They are each made to their exact specs. The Tuff Buff finish is only on the front part of the arrow giving a better gradual FOC. More weight in the front equals higher FOC, a desireable trait when shooting broadheads.

These babies are serious arrows. Very tough, straight, and just really good.

Just curious. If a guy already knows what he needs too about foc, how do you set these up? Use a very light tip? What is the foc of one of these at 30" bare? Don't see that info posted.

Hm, I don't know. I checked their website but to no avail. Obviously it would depend on your arrow length, but yeah.......I would guess you could use a lighter weight point and still have roughly the same FOC....

They maybe just useing all the confusion over foc as a selling point while still providing some. "You need it, we make it easy and give it to you up front" Old Joe heads home with his foc. LOL

Has anyone refletched Carbon express tuff buff coated arrows. I also was looking at using them but I was told by the salesmen at Gander Mountain that I would probably ruin the arrows trying to remove the old fletchings

The arrows are not the carbon express maximas;they are the carbon express maxima hunters. The regular maximas do not have the 2/3 buff tuff camo forward and the cross weave on the back one third, only the maxima hunters have this setup.Regular maximas are all camo from front to back. The maxima hunters are great shooting ,great quality tough arrows. Also the guy from Gander is wrong, you can scrape off fletchings just like any other good quality arrow and you will not damage the finish at all. These things are tough.
