Old Glory "twang"
 

I picked up my Old Glory about a month ago. I love the bow and it is really shooting great. The only question I have is I am getting a little "twang" noise on the shot. My buddy just brought over his new Allegiance the other day and we were shooting side by side with the same set up except I am using the HHA sight and he is using a Spott Hogg. Well, his is considerably quieter on the shot.

I am planning on bringing it in to get looked at but just wanted opinions/experience with anyone who is shooting an Old Glory. Are you hearing any twang?

I do hear a little more on my '06 Old Glory than on my Allegiance or Tribute. The Old Glory is not as parallel as the other two which could be one of the reasons along with a longer ATA>

In addition to WWAG's comments, have you double checked all the screws, etc.. to make sure everything is locked down tight? Have you tried moving the string squidees around a bit to see if it makes a difference? When you say exact same setup then does that mean the same arrow weight, draw length, draw weight, etc....?

This is the case most times , longer axil bows make more string twang , I have owned both bows mentioned and noticed the very same thing , a definate diferance .

Yes, same arrows, same draw weight, one inch difference on draw length though. Other than that, the only difference is the bow and sight.
