Peep Sight Adjustment?

Was wondering. Not sure I am getting the distance I could out of my bow and sights. Seems on the vertical major adjustments before moving pins, it is at the lowest it can go and not interfere with arrow flight. Now the question I have, if I lower the position of the peep on the string, move it down the string closer to the serving, if that will raise the point of impact and in turn, allow for the major vertical adjustment not to be at limit?

Just a thought because I have never been able to get out to 50 yards, for lack of travel, and want to practice out that far.

Thanks

RE: Peep Sight Adjustment?

I'm still a noob at this by forum standard so take this for what it's worth. If you move the peep down, itWILL cause the point of impact to go down. To move it up you'd have to move the peep up on the string. This means that you will also have to adjust the pin sight in an upward direction freeing up the space you want. The only thing I see wrong with this is that it will change how you have to anchor or the position of your head when shooting. But, nothing a little practice can't get you used to.

Thanks for the correction JOE.

RE: Peep Sight Adjustment?

Every time I've ever moved the peep up, the POI went up. The peep is like your rear sight on a gun. Move the rear sight in the direction you want the shot to go, and move the front sight in the opposite direction you want the shot to go. Another way to think of it is that if you move your peep up, your front sight will have to also move up in order for the arrow to be pointed at the same place.
