70-80 Lb. Limbs
 

Does anyone know if you can order say a Legacy or a Patriot with 70-80 lb. limbs? Is it expensive?

No, You can't get them for the Patriot... Can't answer for the Legacy...

I can answer it....I e-mailed them and asked them the same thing (wanted a Pro38 w/ 80#) and they said the ONLY bow they will do it for is the Samson. The tech I talked to said that it is the only bow designed to handle the added stress.

With the speeds and KE modern day bows give us at 70# and down, what on earth are you guys gonna shoot that requires 80# limbs?

I agree that I don't &quot;need&quot; 80 lbs., however, not to boast or sound like I'm blowing my own horn, I am a big guy. 6'2&quot; about 260. I have several 70 lb bows maxed out and their are very easy for me to draw. So, I would like to play around with somthing a litttle stouter, mainly for experimentation. Another thing that I am sure is eggin me on is that I know of a group of big fellas that do a lot of hog hunting and they have similar setups, Older PSE's and such, 80+ lbs., and I have seen the results of these things. They are blowing arrows completely through on direct shulder hits. It's pretty impressive. Again, I know it's not a must, but I would like to do some experimenting. Particularly with one of these real quiet bows because I think the extra pounds is bound to increase the noise level a little.

I got ya. I am in a similar boat, 70# doesn't feel like a ton to me. I routinely am able to let down a few inches and pull back, not really a strain... Good luck in your search.

There are all sorts of ways to have fun in archery. I have 40 lb, 60 lb, and 70 lb bows, am thinking of getting one of the Bowtech Solos in 80 lb - just for the physical pleasure of shooting it. For hunting though I use the 60 lb bow.

The BowTech Samson is offered in 80-90-100 lb. peak weights...

Plenty of poundage and the 2003's will have VFT parallel limb design similar to the Patriot...

Just what the doctor ordered....
