What is the importance/non-importance of arrow wraps?
Pros/Cons? Can you use them with carbon arrows? |

They are for cosmetic purposes.

They are mostly cosmetic but they have some function as well. They make it easier to find a lost arrow, they can be used to stiffen arrow spine reaction (by putting more weight on the tail of the shaft), they add total weight to the arrow and they increase fletching adhesion. You can use either the standard ones or the special carbon ones on your carbon arrows.

They are going to add some weight to the arrow, but not much. Advantages: Increase adhesion when glueing vanes, find a lost arrow easier, watch the flight of the arrow easier, no sanding and scraping glue. Disadvantages: only need to replace one vane, got to replace them all since you have to "unwrap" the arrow.

Not only are they cosmetic and assisting you to find the arrow post shot, they are also beneficial to seeing the arrow in flight and or in the animal.
